• Kerberos v.5 now with support of afs and GRID certification

• Mail and web applications

• imap,outlook,pine : OK

• netscape: not entirely, i.e. passwd must be typed

• Interactive commands

• Unix (e.g. telnet, rlogin, ftp): OK

• Windows 2000: still under question

• Web authentication aim:

• Harmonise login/passwd across applications

• minimise passwd requests

• NB! User applications are NOT covered

• Still not decided:Can ONE Kerberos realm function across platforms?

• Phase Plans

• Now in Phase 2 (Oct 2000): Test authentication

• Feb 2001: authentication in production

• May 2001: Final proposal on off-site access
